Still Making House Calls

Since 1995

AC Connector Policy

OUR AC CONNECTOR POLICY

  1. The cost for an AC Connector repair is $199 plus the cost of the connector (usually in the neighborhood of $10-$25 plus applicable taxes) if it is found to need replacement. This price is subject to change without notice
  1. If the necessary service and repair manuals or other documentation are not available Covenant Computers, etc reserves the right to refuse the job.
  1. We may choose to do the repair in house or, if conditions warrant, send it out to one of our 3rd party repair houses. This decision is up to the sole discretion of Covenant Computers, etc.
  1. We do not repair lands, traces, or any other issue with the motherboard itself. In the event that there is motherboard damage (in most cases this IS NOT the case) then we will not be able to do the repair. In the event that we cannot do the repair, the customer is responsible for a $75 disassembly/assembly charge to cover labor.
  1. Covenant Computers, etc will not release the laptop to the customer until the customer pays in full.
  1. All customers must agree to and sign a copy of our AC Connector agreement.

 AC CONNECTOR TURNAROUND TIMES

  1. Our normal turnaround time for AC connector repair is 3 to 5 business days. If a connector needs to be ordered, add another 3 to 5 business days. Sometimes it makes sense for the connector to be ordered first and for the laptop to be dropped off upon receipt of the connector.
  1. If Covenant Computers, etc chooses to have the repair done by one of our third party vendors, the vendor turnaround time applies.

I agree to the terms and conditions as set forth above

Are you a candidate for AC repair?

AC Connector replacement is an extensive repair, which requires that the laptop be completely disassembled, the motherboard removed, repair or replacement of the AC connector, then reassembly of the laptop. Before contracting with us or anybody else for an AC connector repair you should check two things

  1. Is the laptop still under warranty? If so, you should have the repair done by the company who holds your warranty, otherwise, you will end up paying for a repair that most likely could have been free. In addition, if we open your computer we will void the remainder of your warranty.
  1. Is the laptop worth the repair cost? Look online for companies that sell used laptops. See if they have any of your particular model or something comparable in stock. Check the price against the cost of an AC connector repair.

Please read the entire AC Connector policy and be sure you can agree to the terms before ordering the service
